artwork development

Following my meeting with Matt we decided that we need a logo that we can use consistently through the designs just to illustrate what we are trying to do for the benefit of the crit tomorrow. This is just an initial draft that I created as quickly as possible so that Mat and I could get on with mocking up our products.

We decided it should have all of the fruit from the four mixer options.

branding development

I have experimented with removing the positive space rather than the negative space. Also I used a more brush like effect for the paintbrush tool rather than just flat colour. I think that looks a little more exotic and luxurious....

branding development

I have been experimenting with just black and white. I think that these are interesting although I think that the detail that is missing from these works really well in the originals. The linear swirls of the originals reminds me of french architectural moldings or something and looks more sophisticated than these....

branding development

These are the first four ideas I have had for the branding of the four cocktails. I have kept them simple for now, but I think that the black and white words quite well. I think they have the contemporary feel I was going for, although I think that this could be improved upon with some further refining of the line quality. Matt is happy with the designs and is in agreement that the line quality could be improved so he is going to help me with that tomorrow.

I am not sure that these two for the lemonade and apple cocktails work as well as the first two. I think that the colours are not working. I think that the stronger colours and flatter areas of colour work better on the first two.

I think that this artwork could work well as a pattern, with or without the logo.
